It Started With a Kick Episode 28 with Peter Drury and announcing our first live show featuring Pat Nevin

After the international break it’s a double helping of It Started With a Kick.

First up, this week’s guest is the one and only Peter Drury. Peter’s father was a vicar so he did not attend his first match until he was at Hull University as an 18 year-old. His early hero was the Tigers’ keeper Tony Norman and Peter recalls how he used to be the first into Boothferry Park to watch Norman warm up.

Peter also recounts going to Gillingham and how the local newspaper got carried away after they won the first leg of Play-Offs final 1-0; having a coin thrown at him outside Selhurst Park and how Fulham fans reacted to losing 6-0 to Port Vale at Craven Cottage. Peter also talks about his broadcasting career including missing his best friend’s wedding to cover Doncaster Halifax and his first time on a plane when flying to Stuttgart.
