PREMIER LEAGUE NUGGETS – MatchWeek 24
BEES – HOME AND AWAY
Brentford have had an extraordinary season, for the first eight home matches they were imperious, clocking up an impressive seven wins and one draw, while away was the exact opposite seven defeats and one draw. After MatchWeek 16, 21 of their 22 points had come at the GTech stadium equating to 95%.
However, in their last eight games they have collected only one point out of a possible 15 at home, while they have won two and drawn one of their last three away matches, scoring one more goal in their last two away games against Southampton and Palace than they did in their previous nine. It is difficult to fathom why things have turned around like they have, but West Ham beware as they host the Bees next week.
It Started With a Kick – Episode 43
Broadcaster Kate Partridge has been travelling down a path that very few have ever experienced. For her first match at The Hawthorns aka The Black Country Cathedral, Ron Atkinson was in charge of West Brom, Laurie Cunningham was at his balletic best and the Baggies had just narrowly failed to reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup. Kate now works in Turkey for the national broadcaster TRT. Highlights of her journalistic career include a ‘Marilyn Monroe’ moment at Craven Cottage, a rearranged seating plan at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow and watching the 2018 World Cup semi-final alongside Jose Mourinho in the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.
