It Started With a Kick Episodes 51, 52 and 53

Having just returned from three weeks in Argentina (of which more soon) there has been a slight break from the normal routine but rest assured we’ll be back in full flow as of next week. Suffice to say the Premier League is pretty much done and dusted at both ends of the table with champions elect  Liverpool possibly wrapping up the title and both Leicester and Ipswich joining Southampton in returning from whence they came this weekend.

Talking of the bottom three if they don’t average a point a match between now and the end of the season then they will fall short of last year’s combined total of 66 for the relegated clubs. Considering their current average is a smidgeon over 1/2 a point a match the omens are not good. And, of course Southampton still need a point to equal Derby’s record low. Who said there’s nothing to play for?

It Started With a Kick – Episodes 51, 52 and 53

Here’s a quick summary of the last three podcasts, ex-BBC journalist and broadcaster Richard Fleming had some interesting tales ranging from getting David Platt to collect autographs from Aldershot players all the way to meeting Pak-Doo ik in North Korea.

Next up was Adrian Goldberg who was there to see his beloved Baggies at the top of the old First Division and in Europe but as a matter of principle, refused to pay the extra 20p to see them play in UEFA Cup quarter-final against Red Star Belgrade.

Finally, this week was BBC 5 Live’s Dotun Adebayo who grew up in a street divided into Arsenal and Spurs fans, pluming for the latter. In the end he opted for Charlton as they offered love rather than the racist hate that was prevalent in the late 1970s.
