It Started With a Kick Episode 77 : Robin Bailey

Robin Bailey worked for many years at the BBC, initially as a producer, subsequently as a reporter and presenter. Then there was a brief dalliance with ITV Digital before it collapsed after just 9 months of being on the air. Robin was a lecturer at UCFB and now runs his own media training company. Although Robin is a Norwich fan, his first match was about 500 miles further north at Pittodrie to see Aberdeen play Airdrieonians in 1970.

One of his early memories of Carrow Road was the threat of violence at games and one particular incident when Man United fans went on a rampage. Happier times included seeing Justin Fashanu scoring the goal of the season 1n 1979/80 in a 5-3 defeat to Liverpool. He also remembers interviewing Ken Brown, a former hero, when he was about to be sacked from the manager’s role at Norwich.
