It Started With a Kick Episode 116 : Tom Rostance

Tom Rostance worked for BBC Sport as a main live text commentator for over ten years, in which he has covered some amazing moments in recent football history including the (potentially now asterisked) Agueroo moment in 2012, then 2 years later the Mineiraco when Germany hammered Brazil 7-1 in the 2014 World Cup semifinal in Brazil which tested his speed typing, as they scored 4 goals in a 6-minute span.

Alongside those extraordinary matches, Tom has also experienced some rather ordinary games as a Northampton Town fan but the good times might be returning as he discusses the Pato-led consortium who have been officially announced as The Cobblers’ new owners. But first and it is to the County Ground we head for Tom’s first taste of live football on Boxing Day 1991, a thumping 4-0 win over Halifax, it was only downhill from there.
