‘It Started With a Kick’ Episode 106 – Ian Crocker

It Started With a Kick Episode 105 : Ian Crocker

Ian Crocker’s voice will be familiar to many of you as a Sky Sports commentator, especially covering Scottish football and the forthcoming match at Parkhead will be his 96th Old Firm game. Ian’s football journey began in very different circumstances to the frenetic nature of Celtic Rangers matches, growing up in Dorset he went to watch local side Weymouth take on the might of Merthyr Tydfil.

Ian’s allegiances switched to West Ham as the claret and blue of the Hammers matched Weymouth’s kit and at the tender age of 21 years-old became the stadium announcer at Upton Park. He has also covered well over a hundred Scottish international matches, starting with Estonia in 1998 when Ally McCoist, who became a regular co-commentator with Ian, was substituted for Billy Dodds who scored a couple of goals.
