It Started With a Kick Episode 110 : Steve Hill

Steve Hill is a writer, journalist and author of several books including ‘The Card’ which charts Steve’s quest to see every minute of a Chester FC season. 

This book is certainly not about the glory and involves thousands of miles criss-crossing the country. As it describes itself ‘Whether you love the game or not, it is an extraordinary story of football, friendship and fatherhood.’

Steve’s first match was a 2-1 victory against Darlington at Sealand Road in front of 1,123 hardy souls. Steve also refers to the ‘Curzon Curse’ that former guest Guy Mowbray mentioned. There’s mention of Chester’s rivalry with Wrexham which has been a long-running saga over the decades.
